I have recently become a huge fan of the Junglas. I plan to buy one as soon as I find a good opportunity to do so. I have read a lot about it and have noticed that some people would like to see an 8" version of the Junglas. What do you think of the idea? Would you buy one?

Off-Topic: If ESEE made one, what do you think they would call it? If you got to choose the name, what would you call it?

I wonder if anyone could do a render of one.

Depends on what you want to do with it. It's a light, fast, and IMO, a fairly thin blade. A 3/16" thick spine doesn't seem so thick when it's as long as the Junglas. The grind starts almost immediatly, and the tip isn't taller like a bolo, so the weight out there is due to length. Taking an inch off will no doubt make it less of a chopper.
As a big knife, it would still be an excellent quality knife, for all the other camp chores. But, what's an inch? Why would you want it to be 8", any particular reason?

Making it have an 8" blade would most likely make it less cumbersome. The reduced size and weight may allow it to be used heavily without jerking on one's arm (typically seen when chopping). This means they would be able to use the knife without worrying about loss of balance. Plus, this size would be more convenient to carry on one's person when working in the woods.

Also, it is my understanding that the blade measures 10.5". So, assuming that I'm correct, the difference would actually be 2.5".

the junglas has a 10" blade. So to make it 8", you would have to remove 2", not 1.

Okay it's two inches, there is 10" of edge. You haven't held the Junglas obviously, it's not heavy. It can chop, but it's lightweight, and you won't loose your balance. It's made for Drug enforcement to cut marijuana or coca plants in South America.
Yes, the sheath is long, maybe better for a backpack or attached to a shoulder rig.
The Junglas is a small machte. What you want is a knife, and there's nothing wrong with that. You should go hold a Junglas and a 6 and go from there.
