Today two things have brightened my otherwise fairly boring day on my ship in sunny Port Everglades. 1) I’ve had the great pleasure of meeting Jim Clifton 2) I’ve received my wirk knife from Ray Kirk.
Jim is a very pleasant and knowledgeable person, when he talks about knives and knife fighting he sure knows a whole lot. If I would be living in the Miami area I sure would do everything to be able to attend his knife fighting class. It is always a pleasure to spend a couple of hours with a person that knows and loves knives as much as he does. One thing that Jim made clear to me is that he absolutely hates 12 inch khuks! I’m once more very happy that, a bit more than a year ago, I’ve come across the HI web site and the forum. I guess the HI forum is the best place to meet such persons. As I will be around Ft. Lauderdale / PEV again in the future, I hope I will have more chances to see Jim again.
Later on, at about 1700, the terminal security called me and I went to pick up a priority mail package. As soon as I’ve seen that the package was from Ray Kirk, I knew that my new knife had arrived. The wirk knife is everything I was expecting it to be, to summarize: a workhorse with a lot of sex appeal. I like the knife proportions, the way the blade is ground and how it feel in the hands. I must thank Yvsa for the link to Ray’s website and Ray for the good job.
Ciao a tutti
Fausto

Jim (Tsimi) Clifton is indeed a pleasant and knowledgeable man,and a good one to call friend. It is a great relief to hear that he is up and about in the daylight:p

...............this was written by someone else, using my signature, and if it is ever repeated to Tsimi, you are dead...do you hear me?....DEAD!!:D

The Caveman called me just a little while ago telling me of his meeting with Fausto -- and a few other things. He prounounced Fausto to be a very nice and pleasant fellow which did not surprise me.

It's very gratifying to me as the founder and proprietor of the Cantina to see good guys meeting one another personally as a result of visiting the Cantina.

The Caveman was in the Christmas Spirit and asked personally about several of his worst (and favorite) detractors and wished all of us a happy holiday season.

As Wal observed, the Caveman is one of the world's good guys no matter how he comes across in the Phantom thread!!!!!!

Stay tuned. Like Arnold, the Caveman will be back.

here and there, whenever a thread looks compatible...after all, he will have rested up a whole month, and we don't want him to come back flabby :D

Bro are you sure that wasn't a Freudian Slip and you meant "Flappy" instead?:p  :p ;)

Tsimi also called here, but I couldn't talk to him because my son was here from Missouri, the one I don't talk with often and get to see seldom. Sam and his lovely wife Debbie will be back out tomorrow. Maybe we can even go get a late breakfast so I can get the sludge in my arteries a little thicker before I kick off.;)

You might equal me but can't beat me, Bro. Mine were sludged 100%. But here I set smoking Camels and drinking Heineken.

his knife fighting class

Tsimi teaches a knife fighting CLASS:eek: Er, uh, like Walosi said, uh, someone else was writing with my signature, um, whenever I said, I mean they said, anything, ah, unpleasant to Mr. Clifton sir.;) :D
