They are known for low quality control and high map prices. Don't buy sight unseen.

They did mark boxes with dates now. So contact there warranty dept and let them know the date. It helps them track these issues.

You can try and fix it yourself or send it in for service.

There is a thread on how to center a benchmade that was made earlier in 2017 you'll likely find it with the search. The grit can probably be cleaned out and then oiled.

Are your edges lopsided? Does the blade have side to side or up and down blade play? These are other common issues seen.
 
Thanks. I wasn't aware of QC issues.
2nd BM I got this year that was not right. 928 was the first.
I didn't expect it from BM and vented.
2 out of 3 weren't right.
It's the grainy axis that's not right

Btw. Thanks for the help with bench stones. Getting a diamond 400 soon

I have really enjoyed the mini-loco so far. QC spot on over here. Its a nice overbuilt knife IMO.
