mini maglites and other small flashlights?

The pouch on my multi lock is about wore out. The pouch on the original didn't wear at all, the pouch on the 600 series has only lasted a little over 2 years.
Anyway, I can't decide if I should get a new pouch from gerber, or a slightly larger pouch that could carry a small flashlight along with the pliars. I saw one at meijers that would hold a single AAA maglite, or maybe one of the AA maglites. Do you think it would be worth it? Or do they not put out much light? Any others I should look at? I don't want to spend a whole lot, The maglites are only around $8 or $9. I may get one of the AAA's for a keychain anyhow.
Thanks

Avoid the Maglite Solitaire (1 AAA)!! It's a truly awful POS -- I should know, I own two of them.

It puts out a very weak, poorly focused beam and the switch flakes out very easily from pocket lint and corrosion.

For a 1 AAA flashlight, consider a Pelican MiniMityLite ($7.50). For 2 AAA flashlights, consider the Pelican SuperMityLite ($10.40), Princeton Tec Blast ($7.95), or Underwater Kinetics UK2AAA ($9.95). Check out www.brightguy.com for these and many other lights.

See Brock's flashlight page at http://www.uwgb.edu/nevermab/flash.htm for reviews of many regular flashlights, and his page at http://www.uwgb.edu/nevermab/led.htm for LED alternatives.

And if you ever have the urge to spend more for a small, super bright light, consider a SureFire E1 (1 DL123A) when they become available in about a month. I can't wait to get one myself!

Thanks I'll check all of those out. My main reason for mag lite is the all aluminum body seemed like to would be less likely to get crushed in the pouch along wth the multi pliar and you can find them anywhere. I was worried about the brightness thing though, I have a 3D cell mag light which I like alot, but my dad has a AA that doesn't put out much light at all. So I'll take a look at your suggestions.
Thanks again

Re: Crushing. I'd say the reverse is possible. The Pelican and UKE Flashlights are tough little things and I'd bet the MagLite would fail before the Pelican.
My Pelican SupaMityLite (2AAA) and Magnum (2AA) and StealthLite (4AA) can really take a beating.
Unlike the MagLite, they're waterproof, rustproof and have increased impact resistance. Pelican flashlights can be used in Methane leaks etc.
Stay away from MagLite is my advice.
Brock's site is great.

I hope I can find them somewhere in a store because I've had zero luck in ordering things both online and out of catalogs lately. And on top of that its a pain in the ass because I don't have check book or credit card.
Thanks
