Mini Manix problem

I got a new Mini Manix about 2 weeks ago. Yesterday I moved the clip (from left point down, to left point up carry). Before I moved the clip, the blade opened very smoothly and when the lockback was depressed to release the blade, the blade fell nice and smooth. After moving the clip, all of a sudden the blade is opening very tight. It almost feels like it is grinding in places. When depressing the lockback to close the blade, the blade doesn't move at all. This makes one handed closing way more work than it should be. All of this from just removing the clip. I have no idea why this is. I didn't touch any other screws.

After moving the clip back again and trying it without the clip, I still have the problem. I then tried loosening the pivot screw for the blade, as well as oiling the pivot point. None of this has worked.

Any ideas on what the problem might be? Thanks for any help.

It just regular lockback problem. Mine does that once in a while. You said that you oiled it, you really should use grease for that instead of oil. Whenever mine does that, a little grease usually loosen it up.

I don't think it has to do with removing the clip, it just happens once in awhile.

Well, I did open it right before I switched the clip. It was perfect then. Right after switching the clip, it was really tight and "grindy". It seems that switching the clip caused this.

As far as greasing it, is there a particular grease I should be using? What do you use? I'll give that a try and see how it works. Thanks.

I know the grinding problem you're talking about. It happened to my old native, and it happens to my mini manix. It goes away on it's own usually. Are there any blade play with yours? I have only mine (vertical and horizontal), and it seems to only happens to lockbacks with bladeplay since my old endura and centro don't have this problem.

I just use food grade machinary grease, because I get it for free at work. It's food grade so it's ok to cut food up with it.
