Seems Ka-Bar is making a sales killing with mini-marine combat knives and stainless combat knives. Any plans for the same from Camillus? Maybe a mini-stainless Marine Combat in a nice local steel from Crucible? Maybe a superb thermorun or FRN handle? And housed in a nice concealex sheath?

The Pilot knife is basically a 5" (13cm) version of the Marine Combat knife except for that stoopid sawtooth back. I would love to see it available without those stoopid sawteeth and I think a lot of other people would too.

Cooooougar,
I understand your distaste for the sawteeth on the Pilot's Survival, but........

....it is Mil-Spec. Sorry, Uncle Sugar seeez we gotta make it that way. It is designed for ripping aluminium aircraft bodies, not cuttng wood. Some tell me it works pretty well at it, some say it doesn't. I've never tried it, so I don't know, yet. Otherwise, its a pretty kewl knife, with alot of history.

Yes, I understand it's not your fault Uncle Sam wants stoopid sawteeth on the knives he buys ... but couldn't you just accidentally forget to put the sawteeth on a few of them, and sell those "rare production error" knives on the civilian market for, say, a $5 markup for rarity value? Save whatever it costs to cut the teeth and get an extra $5 per knife too?

Maybe I'm talking to the wrong guy ... maybe I should find out who cuts the sawteeth and bribe him to draw some teeth on a few with magic marker ... probably should bribe the parkerizing guy, too, to make sure he doesn't notice ... or steal his glasses; that'd be cheaper than bribing him.... I'm assuming the teeth are cut immediately before the parkerizing step, though; if there are intermediate steps I might end up having to bribe half the factory ... or steal their glasses....

Cougar, let me know when you plan to carry out the op. I'm dying to visit the Camillus factory. I wish it was in Texas, or Tennessee, or anywhere but New York. While we're bribing people maybe we can find out who all Camillus really makes knives for

Clayton ... You must be thinking of the other NY. Camillus is in the real NY (Upstate), a rural suburb of Syracuse. Great deer hunting and a great trout stream, too. Not a bad place to visit, imho.
