There is a guy local to me that is selling this. I understand this is not a quality machine, but I will be using it primarily to slot guards in aluminum and brass. New, these are about $800 and change shipped.
I figure I can't go wrong for 200 bucks, but does anybody know if this is absolute junk for my intended purpose? Thanks in advance ⚔️ proxxon mf70 - for life of me I can't figure out how to post pictures 🙃

If your identification of the Proxxon MF70 is correct, then it is a micro-mill, not the venerable mini-, and it is $404 at AMZ.
It'll slot soft metal guards for you if you go slow enough, but in the world of mills you get what you pay for.
You'd be far better off paying $400 for an actual used $800 mini-mill.
My 2cents. YMMV

I agree with Fitzo

Low speed is five thousand rpm

The largest collet size is 1/8"

You will spend your time snapping endmills.

super small axis movement ranges

Special collet size you can only get from them.

NO

I wouldn't buy it with your money.

I am in CT and saw the posting on FB as well. Hard pass! I made up a setup for my Dremel and it works pretty well to mill slots in G10 and Micarta. Didn't go well in Stainless, but I need to try brass or aluminum to see how it does. Pretty simply build, linear rails, drill press vise (or cross slide vise), some black pipe, pipe clamps, springs and a piece of aluminum or steel to hold the dremel. It gets me a straight slot I can hand file for a decently close fit; I mill undersized and then file it out.
