Thinking of getting a Mini Mojo. That studlock gig has me facinated but I wonder about the steel. It would be a light duty toy, the other knife I am looking at would be the Baby Boa in S60V. I have a few knives in this steel and like it very much. if you guys were gonna get just one of these small knives which one would it be? I know I will end up w/ both eventually but for now help me pick one. Thanks, Russ

P.S.- As far as my reference to "elders" in a previous post I am 47 and have had at least a few Kershaws since the early 80's but this current obsession is outa control. One of the tech dudes at school is gonna photograph my Kershaws and help me post it here, looking forward to showing of my growing stash of these babies!!!:D

If you don't already have a studlock knife, then by all means, get the Mojo first.

Not sure about where to get a Baby Boa in S60V. I'm pretty sure they don't exist.

Anyone?

I had a baby boa for a while and it's probably the coolest looking keychain knife ever:) Unfortunately, the intense recurve doesn't really work well with such a short blade, it's hard to sharpen the base and I found the design kind of inefficient for cutting. Go with the studlock mojo and if you need a keychain sized knife, the chive has better edge geometry.

Good grief. I just did a Google search and there are tons of places mentioning that the Baby is S60V.
Probably trickle down effect. One place puts it up and all the rest copy them.

One of the best places to find out what steel is in a Kershaw is to come to this subforum or go to www.kershawknives.com

mycough, you can't go wrong with either, but I too would pick the Mojo first.

Get the Mini Mojo/Mojito. It's a wicked little knife. Incredibly fast to open, and a sweet integral lock built into the flipper. (See sig pic below!)

Don't forget about the blade steel changeover. JUL07 and later: 13C26 and named the Mini Mojito. Before that, 440A and called the Mini Mojo. The reason I bring this up is there is a lot of new old stock out there.

I don't think the Baby Boa was ever run in S60V either.

Of course, the Mini Mojo isn't produced anymore (replaced by Mini Mojito), but I'll bet you could get one from Redrummd, with a very nice dinosaur bone handle!

Can't believe everything ya read!!! Many places touted the bb as having S60V. I woulda been TICKED if it showed up not as advertised. Does the steel in mojo vs. mojito make much difference? Thanks, Russ

I've got a few of each, and the 13C26 will hold the edge longer. Both will get extremely sharp. When I carry one, it's usually the 440A. I can get it to take a razor edge, and it touches up very fast.

Sandy has carried the Mojo daily for over a year and loves it.

I like the baby boa, but I would argue that the mini mojo is the best knife of that size I've ever handled, period. It's one of the only tiny knives that's both comfortable and grippy. On top of that, it's beautiful. The stud lock works great on small knives because you don't have to reach up to get the leverage to close the blade against the AO resistance.

I have the original 440A, and it holds an edge just fine for the tasks the mini mojo is designed for. The 13C26 is almost undoubtedly a little better, but for me, this is a thing of beauty and ergonomic genius.

I'm actually okay with committing to the claim that the mini mojo is the most beautiful Kershaw/KO collab.

Mycough, I had a Baby Boa for a short itme and I HATED it!! It's too small and the blade is fairly thin stock, so it hurt my finger to deploy the blade.

On the other hand, the Mini Mojito is a fantastic knife - the studlock mechanism is awesome, the knife is a little bigger and easier to manage (but still small) and I feel it's a better choice overall. I just wish they made that exact knife with a 3"-3.5" blade!

My vote is Mini Mojito all the way!

For riffraff... :D
