hey guys, i was looking in knife shop and i came across this knife. ive seen it before but never really looked at it. i really like the looks of it, especially the blade, feels prett decent in the hand too for such a small knife. one thing that i despised about it though is the little safety feature on the flipper. on the one i handled anyway, there was no possible way to disengage it with just your finger, it was extremely stiff and i had to press quite hard with my finger nail while holding the knife with my other hand. is that normal or was it just that knife? thanks guys, love this forum

It was probably just that one, because the safety is pretty smooth on mine. If I try to open the knife with the flipper, it opens. The safety prevents the knife from opening on accident. It sounds like the one you handled was either too stiff, or hadn't been worn in. The Mini Mojo is a great knife though!

no ive experienced the same thing.

i think whats going on in that mech. is that you cant technically just push the flipper.
the safety is on a separate pivot so techinically the action is on a double pendulum.

so you have to swing the pivot of the safety which pivots at a different angle then the blade pivot.

that might have been a bit too techinical. but in short i ve found that i have to push downward to work the safety then push into the knife to work the flipper.

I knifesterbated with a mini mojo the other day in the army surplus store. It was not stiff, and might I say a sweet little knife. You can't go wrong with a Kershaw. I'd say get it!!!!

When I first handled a Mini Mojo, I had the same experience. As I handled it more often, I got used to opening it. It's the safety. You have to engage the safety (black) and the blade flipper at the same time and angle to open the blade. Once you play with it more, you get used to it.
