OK - so I owned a ZT MUDD for about 48 hours - great knife - just too damm BIG ( and I know I'm way short of the first to post this observation). Kersaw could build the original - the 3" G&G Hawk MUDD is no longer made by the the Hawks - Kershaw should not change a thing on the Hawk's knife except - the name on the blades. Charge more for it than for the "full sized" MUDD - the Hawk clothspin clip is actually that functionaly worthwile. After all sports cars ( small) cost more than pickup trucks (big) ?
Obviously the folks at Kershaw know they need this knife - my guess is they just don't know where it fits ( 3" ZT knife - well maybe not) - they need to get over this .Knife nutz will buy this 3" MUDD because it will be a simply great EDU tool.
So let's help them name it : vote for a 3" MUDD here - you also have to come up with a name in order to vote - Kershaw should be willing to give the best (winning) name a MUDD 3" knife and the very worst ( way loosing name) one of the first hot off the presses kershaw " " 3" MUDDS . BTW - Nixon and Feinstein are eliminated because they lack originality.
My offerings - Lil'Mudd , MUDDier, Mini-MUDD ( not original - but way descriptive) ,MUDDPi ( only if the blade where 3.14 ").
OK - so you get the idea - let's just harass the fine people at Kershaw untill they give us what we want ( other than peace, love and understanding).
BTW - I bought a original G and G Hawk MUDD - these really are THAT good !

i think a RAM with the sealed pivot and lock would be the right size i think

I think that's what audiopile means. A heavier duty RAM under the ZT name. Personally, I would definitely get 1 or 2.

For me & in my line of work, if I need a larger knife, I just go to my FB. A med. sized folder is very handy.

Yah - something RAM sized in terms of blade length - but personally I still way prefer stud over flipper. And I will say again - the kershaw RAM is the smoothest - best flipper I have ever run into.

i love the compensation i see here. the thread started as a mini-mudd thread and quickly progressed into the how big can you get. who in this thread drives a porsche :D

I'd love to see a Mini-MUDD also.Maybe Kershaw feels the RAM comes too close and it may just be repiticious(? spelling).

Put the MUDD blade on RAM, leave the chols on the handle. make the handle a little longer (to accommodate the blade) move the lock button forward about 1/2 to 3/4 inch, to make it easier to open and close while gripping the handle, and it will be an awesome new knife.
Leave the flipper ! (love the flipper) and thumb stud (s).
