Mini Nighthawk date code.

Hi

I just got one of the Mini Nighthawks from SMKW, and I checked the date code (http://www.buckknives.com/cms/index.php?Category=22) and it has the symbol for 1997! could this be? The blade says 655 followed by the code (looks like an n or upside down u), the box says B655-ODX-0 / CAT. 5162.

Very Possible.. we have not made new ones of the 655 in quite awhile..

Thanks Jeff. Do these knives have the edge 2x? Is there a way to tell the edge 2x form the old style edge by looking at it?

Edge 2x was originally introduced in 1999 as Edge 2000. I doubt very much if it is the edge on your Nighthawk, If you would like to have your knives re-done with the Edge 2X, I know Buck offers a sharpening service for, I think(?), $6.00 per knife. Joe Houser, Director of Consumer Relations for Buck, would be the man to contact.
