I just bought a 907 Mini Nitrous Stryker on the exchange. It looks like new. I also have a Mini Barrage. When I open the Mini Barrage the blade just comes charging out. I love opening the Mini Barrage! It opens with a loud clack! When I close the Barrage there is pretty consistent spring resistance until it is almost completely closed.

The 907 is nothing like that. The assist portion only works for less than first one fourth of the blade travel. Same with closing there is no spring resistance until the blade is nearly closed. The last part of closing resistance seems like a lot. Sometimes it won't open completely. I have to nudge it that last little bit of travel. Is this normal? I have no way of knowing if this is normal or not. Compared to the Barrage it is miles of difference. I was going to ship it to Benchmade and see what they had to say but I thought I would post here first.

What do you think?

It sounds like the 907 is in need of cleaning and adjustment. Long out of production, and depending on where it was stored it could have simply dried up. I would suggest a soak in a pan of hot soapy water, and followed by a careful drying; D2 Will rust. Afterwards, use some lube...then see what happens. A trip to the Spa might be avoided, but sometimes it Is best to send the knife up. I own a 907 and it's always been a favorite. Hope that helps!

The knife looks brand new there is no rust anywhere. I'll send it off to Benchmade and have them work their magic.

Your post was helpful.
