Mini Northstar Handle Question

Hello all,

I prefer the smaller blade of the Mini Northstar compared to the standard Northstar.

Any thoughts on the handle of the Mini Northstar? Is it a bit too small?

How does this knife compare to the Huntsman in terms of handling and ergonomics?

Thanks.

Frank

Think of the Mini-Northstar as a fixed blade trapper (the skinny blade of the trapper), or as a heavy duty paring knife.

I really like the mini northstar. Just enough knife, but not too much. I like the handle, I have small hands, so I don`t need a lot to hold on to. I cleaned up some trout yesterday, and am very pleased with the way it fits in my hand. Grampa is right about it being like a heavy duty paring knife. I use mine in the kitchen a lot.

I have large hands and don't have any issues with the MNS--it is a well designed knife and a great EDC.

Frankly, I really like both the full size Northstar and the Mini and I do not have large palms. Both knives seem to feel and use just right, the Mini is perhaps superior for snack/food prep.Bear in mind too that these are two different steels-stainless and A2 tool steel.

Well worth getting the pair!

I far prefer the Mini over the full-size Northstar. More EDC uses for me, and the size...well it's like the knife was designed for my hand.
