Hey all, I was wondering if anyone could tell me where to get a mini prybar/tool. I would also like to hear your suggestions on a reliable firesteel. Thanks in advance for your input.

Sears, Lowes, Home Despot, Menards all sell 5-7" prybars.
Fire steels can be found at going gear, camp-mor, sportsman's guide, Duluth Trading, Amazon, most of the dealers on the BF exchange, etc...

email this guy "bob" neologist@gmail.com. he has an ebay store with great firesteel blank rod prices; but if you email direct you can get better prices. I just bought a lot of 50 5/16" diameter x 3" steels from him.

The misch metal ferro rods from Goingear throw GOBS of fire. I've accidentally started fires with them standing up. County.comm has some nice 6"is pry bars.--KV

When you say "mini" prybar how small are you thinking? Peter Atwood and JDR Knife and Tool that guy make very small prybars. I have the JDR Makemake in Titanium, and wear it around my neck. It's a great bottle opener, but too short to have real power.
Another cool prybar is from TOPS, look at the Pry Knife, and the Pry Punch and Probe tool. They can be a set or seperate. They also now have a smaller pry knife, and it's 3/8" thick, shorter but more stout.
Otherwise, like mentioned, hardware stores, Vaughn, Gorrilla bars has a 14" for like 10 bucks, but those won't fit in your pocket.

If you want just a simple little prybar, Countycomm is the first place that comes to mind. Following that, Gerber makes an inexpensive prybar/bottle opener tool. It's a far cry from an Atwood, but it's a simple tool you can beat up.

Yes, the widgys from countycomm are very good, but their service has gotten terrible with no communication.

There is another company now offering the same products and they will communicate with you. www.endtimesreport.com/survival_shop.html

Last I heard, Countycomm was moving their wares to another location, which would explain the lack of communication. Haven't ordered from them in quite some time, especially since the shipping rates are so high. I'll have to check out that site you linked.

This one is by CRKT, and was designed by Raliegh Tabor, a member here. Cost is around $20

Wow, I was just working on a design alot like this a couple weeks ago. I got it drawn up and was working on transfering it to some kind of CAD, but this is incredibly similiar to my idea. Especially with the hole for the screwdriver bit, prybar, and other parts toward the end of the knife. Well, guess I'll just throw that out the window. Great idea though.

OT, I've seen alot of people buying the CountyComm prybars, but you'd probably have more luck going to Wally World or Lowe's. Some place like that will probably have a mini-bar. I'm going to keep an eye on this thread, I'm in the market for a firesteel aswell.

This forum makes me buy too much stuff.
I bought three prybars from county comm just now.
I bought different ones and will keep one I like and give the other two to my dad and father in law.
