Mini Recon I question

I highly doubt any lockback folder, especially with tri-ad lock can be done safely with one hand.

It can be done with the American Lawman because of the choil.
However, due to the lack of choil on the mini reckon i don't think it's possible:(
Please, someone prove me wrong because the need of usage of two hands to close a folder is a deal breaker for me nowadays!

I can do it on my Spartan. But must be broken as said and you need to be super careful

I imagine it can be done. On the regular Recon one Cold Steel doesn't sharpen that very tiny bit at the end of the edge so when you hit the lock button and flip it shut it hits you finger with no harm. Maybe it's the same on the mini.

it's extremely easy to disengage the lock and the blade tang drops down safely on your index finger...needs a good bit of travel past that for the spring to want to snap the blade home.

Can open and close it 3 or 4 times in 10 seconds with one hand and your eyes closed without being worried about your fingers.

I don't know about the mini, but full sized one is fairly easy for me....practice and good technique.

Can definitely be done.

Safely? That's subjective :p

I personally do a onehanded close, and have never had a problem. Just keep your index finger high up enough to catch the blade at the unsharpened choil.

I've been doing it no problem at all. I depress the lock with my thumb while letting the blade drop onto my index finger and then close it. It doesnt matter that it has no choil. I just got mine yesterday and it required no break in at all. I bought the spear point and it is sweet! Highly recommend!

I always use 1 hand to open and close my Recon 1 and Mini Lawman. You just have to make sure your index finger is in the right spot to catch the "choil" on the blade before snapping it closed.
