Well, I havn't got the buck I wanted, but I did manage to kill a couple doe. I used my PSK to field dress one of them. I must say that even with the lack of handle scales, the knife was very comfortable to use. Both in the normal, and upside down positions.

The blade was a little wider than what I like for the chore, mainly because I like a narrow blade for cutting around the anus. This is personal choice and has nothing to do with a bad design. I actually prefer the wider blade for every other task and for day to day use. The drop point penetrated the hide and skin well, and i like the thicker point for its strength.

I didn't buy the knife to use hunting, I just thought I would give it a whirl. It just seemed like the right thing to do since Scott is a avid deer hunter. For camping, fishing, and every day use, I think this is a great blade. For deer hunting, I think it definitley can get the job done and makes a great back up blade.

Overall, I give the PSK two thumbs up! I am going to contact someone about orange G10 scales for it, as I think it will fit my hand better this way.

Looks like a PSK Jr is in your future. Same length and shape. Narrower blade.

By the way Scott when will mine be ready?

I don't think so. Like I said, I am not looking to use it as a hunting blade, just thought I would give it a try. I have a buck 105 pathfinder I use for deer hunting. The PSK will be used as a utility type blade while fishing, camping, and hiking, not to mention around the house. It shines for any of those uses. It really does hunting as well, a narrower blade is just my personal preference.
