Hi all,

I've got yet another modern slip joint knife from Heinnie Haynes!

Note that this blade has been hand-sanded by me and is not original.

Good
Fit and finish: The spring is flush at all positions. No gaps. Centered blade.
Action: The spring is stout. Yet the action is smooth (at least at the beginning).
Materials: I can't complain about S35VN blade and Ti handles.
Handles: The Ti handles give a very solid feel and heftiness.

Bad
Fit and finish: I noticed a little bit of blade play. Tightened the pivot until it's gone. Then the spring did not fully retract to the rest position when closed. I disassembled the knife and found some burrs inside. Sanded the handles and spring a little, and it works great now.
Pivot: It kept loosening. I had to apply red Loctite.
Grind: The primary grind is too shallow. I immediately sanded the blade to thin the edge bevel.

Slipstream_Shuffler.jpg

I think it is somewhat similar to Lionsteel Shuffler in the price range and design.
Hence the comparison.

Comparison to Shuffler
Price: Shuffler > Slipstream
Fit and finish: Shuffler >> Slipstream
Action: Shuffler = Slipstream
Blade grind: Shuffler > Slipstream (Shuffler thinner)
Design: Shuffler > Slipstream (stop pin)
Carry: Shuffler > Slipstream (Shuffler light and slim)
Weight: Slipstream > Shuffler

Conclusion
This is an attractive modern slip joint knife at a glance.
But it is yet another overly thick sub 3" slip joint knife in the market to me.
If you like a hefty little slip joint knife, this might be for you.
If you want a slicey slip joint like GEC's but with a wear-resistant steel, this is not for you.
It does not cut like GEC #73.

Loved the review. While I am not that much into slipjoints, this one looks terrific. Too bad the looks are not on par with the cutting hability.

Thanks!
Yeah, it would be a much much better EDC knife, if it is thinner at the stock and behind the edge right from the factory.
