I am a reporter for my high school's newspaper and I covered the "making of Winter Ball" by our high school's leadership class. I live in a pretty sheeple area, but I decided to bring my mini ritter and a swiss army knife (spartan lite) along because it wasn't school hours technically.
Both my spartan lite and mini ritter were a big help in both the making and clean up of our high school's Winter Ball. Even though I tried my best to be only an "observer", I found myself and my knives becoming part of the story numerous times. My knives didn't do any dramatic "save-the-day" rescues, but it functioned perfectly on easy tasks such as cutting sheets of paper and puncturing balloons (during the cleanup). The S30V steel and axis lock was overkill against a helium balloon.
It surpised me that none of the leadership class students brought a cutting tool (not even a swiss army knife) with them even though they did numerous jobs that required a sharp object. The reception on the Spartan Lite was quite positive, but a few of them did gave out a "whoa, is that a knife!?" when they saw me open the mini ritter. Their sheeple fear soon disapeared once they saw how useful a knife was. Even though I didn't convert anyone, I am sure I changed a good number of people's perspective on knives.
