Hi all,
Does anybody here use both these knives? I'd love to here someone with who has used both of these on a daily basis.
At the moment I'm looking to replace my EDC 551 (440c) grip with something that has better slicing capabilities, and isn't as prone to chipping as the 440c.
So at the moment the Mini ruckus and Ritter Grip are at the top of my list.

Cheers Bo.

Hi Bo.

I own both mini-Rukus and Ritters. I like and use both, with the edge towards the Ritter which is easier to carry. Both blade shapes are basically the same and the blade steel used on both is S30V.

Due to the overall size of the 615, I carry it without clip in a large Benchmade velcro pouch and it carries pretty well on the belt. The handle scales on the Ritter are only marginally thinner, but due to their rounded shape make it easy to carry in the pocket.

Both are fine knives in their own right.

Point is, the two you mention would be a great upgrade from your old trusty 551. Since you know what the Grip feels like already, I'd suggest you go to your local dealer and try the 615 Mini-Rukus for yourself.

Sometimes that's the only way you'll know what's right for you!

The Ritter and your Griptilian are about identical. I would get the Rukus for some variety.

If you like the griptilian, the ritter fits the criteria you asked for pretty well. It's a great blade shape! It's a safe bet since you already know how the griptilian handle works in your hand.

I'm also going to throw the recommendation out there for the mini ritter grip. It's very light and compact, I'm a big fan of mine. Plenty of blade.

Thanks for the input guys,
You'll be lucky to find any Benchmade, let alone a BM Ruckus at your local knife supplier here (NZ), that's mainly the reason why I need all your help before purchasing online.
Also is the weight difference between the two very noticeable from a carrying perspective?
As far as the mini grip goes Capt Carl, that knife just doesn't suit my hands. For smaller knives Spyderco's generally seem to suit me better...

Cheers Bo.

For handle comfort I prefer the ritter grip but get what works for your hand. If you get them both thats not a problem but if you only get one you might want to try to handle the mini-rukus before you buy, but since you can't do that in NZ you might want to go with the Ritter grip since you are already familiar with the handle, and either one will slice very well.
