Well, i'm looking at getting one of these knives. Ive found a mini-rukus nib for $230 and a nib tyrade for $280. First off, are these decent prices? They are both pretty much going to stay in the collection, and will be rarely edc'd due to the rarity. I want to grab one of these before they're completely gone. Thanks for any input.

Both prices seem pretty high to me, I'd pass on both. You can find them cheaper if you're patient.

The Mini-Rukus is a great blade, built like a tank. A bit bulky to carry, though, which is my only complaint.

I've played with both and definitely prefer the Tyrade. Have one in my hand right now.

But as others have said, those prices are extremely high. I see them go on eBay anywhere between 200 and 250.

I like both. But as a hard user I prefer the blade shape and cutting ability of the mini rukus. It really slices well.
I believe it has a flimsy clip , But that might have been changed.
The tyrade is also very sturdy. And A bit more comfortable than the mini Rukus.
However the blade shape is less appealing to me.
Note, the mini rukus also has both micarta and g-10 for its handle .

I should also note that I really like the rukuseseseses. I choose the Tyrade because my preference for recurves and the materials used (CPM-D2 and titanium and carbon fiber).

Ryan -

Both of these are great knives, but they are very different knives. The Mini Rukus is relatively thick, with a smooth manual action axis lock, and multi-piece g-10 scales over steel liners, and a straight edged S30V blade.

The Tyrade features a Titanium frame lock with carbon fiber inserts, and a composite blade featuring a spine of 154CM fused to a CPM D2 cutting edge. The blade is .150" thick and features a recurve edge.

I I could only have one, I'd get the Tyrade (but I'm admittedly biased). In a perfect world, I would say get both. Finally, you should know that you can get a Tyrade for much less money ($175) from Kershawguy - here's a link to his sales thread:
