hey everybody, not my first post but i havent posted for quite a while. anyways i am really liking the looks and reviews on al mar knives, especially the sere 2000. the only thing is i dont want an edc that big, i like them to be around 4 inches closed. so i was estatic to see a mini sere. anybody know if its quality is the same as the bigger brother? how does it fare against the nomad? any help will be very appreciated, thanks a lot guys!

I have a SERE 2000 and just checked out the mini SERE recently. Overall it is a very faithfyl rendering of the larger knife in a mini me guise. It is smaller that I had expected. Took a tank built knife and made it a gents folder though still felt and appeared very solid. The nomad has an overall larger appearance to me than the mini Sere does. The mint sere is quite light in comparrison to the larger Sere 2000.

Hey shooter punk. I am not sure how the Nomad rates against the mini sere. I think the Nomad is a great knife. It has been my daily use knife now for about three months and i just love it. The handle fits the hand well, has a very smooth action, and the blade profile offers a great cutting edge. My only complaint would be that even though it is VG-10 steel I find the edge wears faster than I expected. (Although not really that quickly.)
