I posted this already over in the Custom and Handmade forum because of the knife. John Horrigan gifted me this little knife.

This little sheath is true to scale in all respects. John even made me a tiny custom Sam Browne stud so the scale would stay true. The leather is two layers of 2/3 oz to have top grain on both sides and also the thickness of the leather is true to scale for the mini sheath. The knife is about 1/4 scale to the real fighter which John makes for the military.

Edit: Added photo of sheath in black made later.

Paul,
Exceptional work as always! I'm hoping to pick up your videos when I go to the Pasadena custom knife show in a week or 2.

One of the knife supply outfits may have them there, but if not just follow the link to Chris Crawford knives in my sig line and you'll find them there very easily. Price will be the same or maybe even less.

The mini stuff is fun to do, but keeping it to scale is difficult. Not an abundance of stamps small enough and other needed accessories.

Paul,
I have a vendor there that is bringing the set of videos, can't wait. I've seen the before and after of others after they used your knowledge from your videos. The difference is night and day!

That is a neat little knife & sheath. Thanks for taking the time to visit with me last mounth. Picked up a lot on efficiency, working faster ,cleaner. Thank you for the hositality and great time.

Beautiful work Paul. I too need to pick up a copy of your videos.

About the tools... What did you use, and where can you find miniature tools? I've never seen them before. Also, did you use a scale makers mark? It looks very small for a regular mark. I really like miniatures and have wondered about the sheaths.

Strigamort, the tools I used are standard size. I was referring the the smaller tool with regard to a small impression. There are not too many of them available. The maker's mark in this case is a special one I had made which is just my cattle brand from the center of a regular size mark. I use it when I need an extra small mark.

Well it's lovely. I especially like the keepers. They resemble a blade themselves.

Can I pick your brain on a couple of things? I have a "modeling tool" that resembles a stylus on one end and a tiny pointed spoon on the other. What is this tool for? Also, I'd like to try some basket weave stamping, but I'm not sure what tool to use to make a line (or double line) border. Can the stylus be used against a ruler to make these bordering lines, or is there a more appropriate tool? I don't have a freehand stitch groover, but I can get one if that's what's needed. The tooling on those sheaths are certainly something to strive for. :)

Great looking knife deserves a beautiful sheath. Great details and clean lines on such small scale. Great job!
