....in STAG!! This one was made back in 2005.

Lets see some pics and hear what you think if you have one.

Here are some pictures of one I just rehandled in Stag for a friend!

Here it is in its leather Rowe sheath...

So what you think...

Thanks!

That's a beauty. Reminds me of Dozier's K-8, a little workhorse I really like. Many makers who do very pretty drop point hunters just can't seemed to pull off an attractive semi-skinner like this one. One notable exception is the Bill Ankrom "crooked" skinner Win Heger showed off on the recent best hunter thread.

Is mine done yet? Elk season is only 9 months away!

Tom, I'm liking that skinner, how much would it run pricewise, with a canvas micarta handle, and what steel would you recommend specifically for a skinning knife?

Blade, handle and sheath are all neat and matching with each other
Simply a beautiful package :)
Could you please let me know Rowe's email id in here Tom ;)

It would make a sweet little folder.Hint Hint;)maybe in some thing like CPM M4
I have the perfect piece of ivory.

I really need to get my web site up and running all the way as it would answer these questions. I will PM you the price. What steel?? There are so many good ones; A2, D2, CPM M4, CPM 3V, CPM 154...! I make a lot of these in A2, it is one of my standard price steels (it and D2). It is super tough, takes and holds a very fine edge and has just enough chromium (5%) to make it markedly more corrosion resistant than 1095, 5160, etc...

Take your pick of the above steels and you will be happy!

I agree Eli! It would make a nice little pocket sized hunter. I am going to try to make a folder or two this year... :)

Tom, any of those steels will be more than adequate to get the job done, I did not get your PM though, since I am an unpaid member here. However, I would like to know the price depending on steel type used. and if you are going to do a folder or two, that is also going to be another blade of yours that will certainly draw my interest.

Shoot me an email and I will reply to it. Tried to send you a PM but like you said you can't get PM's.

Folders are still a ways out, but they are on the horizon...
