Is the Mini Skirmish, when closed.. as wide as a Spydie Native? I am really liking the Mini Skirmish but my only concern is size. Length wise it is only about 3/4 of an inch longer than my Russell Featherlite so that is ok. And I searched the site and it seems that people say it is quite thin. So all that is left is width when closed.

Does this thing look like you're carrying a sword? That is why I didn't like my Native. Felt too big to me. (and we all know the Native isn't even that big).

The Vex was also too bulky for my liking.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

From my understanding the mini skirmish is not too mini and is built nice and stout. If the Native is too big for you the mini skirmish will most likely not work out for you.

Damn. Thats what I was afraid of. Thanks for letting me know.

The small Seb is a tad shorter than a Mini Skirmish.

The Mini Skirmish is a great bang for the buck knife. I think its right up there with a Seb, its just not as smooth. Its a great knife, but if you thought your Native was to big than it will also feel to big.

Go to the Benchmade site and see if there are an dealers around you. If so go and feel it. Most any gun shops worth their salt will carry Benchmade knives, and IMHO the 635 is on top of all the other benchmades. I seen a great deal on the swaps here for 115 or something around there. Your not going to find it any cheaper.

I say get one, and you will love it.

You can read about a passaround we had in the Passaround forum - with the Mini Skirmish.

The mini skirmish is just barely too small for my hands.

That said, it is quite a capable folder. I'm very impressed (as were most of the reviewers).

It is definitely wider than most other folders that length...but not obnoxiously so.

Pictures are worth a thousand words, even lousy rushed pictures:

If you are looking at that class of knives, another to consider is the Buck Mayo 172. It is noticeably slimmer and lighter in the pocket than the 635. If you are going to use it hard, the thinner handle isn't the greatest on the hands, but for general purpose use it works very well. Hard to beat a Paul Bos heat treat on the S30V.

Interesting. So not too big at all it sounds like. Thanks. I will definitely find the thread.

Lambertiana, THANK YOU so much for the photos. I really appreciate it. That really lets me know the sizing perfectly. I think it may be a bit too big for me.
