Hey STR,
I can't believe I keep forgetting to post pictures of the clips you made for my JYD and Leek, they are amazing.
Anyhow, my micarta handled lonewolf diablo could use a new clip, the current clip is tight and a pain in the ass, is there anything you can do for that? :)

Thanks!

Not if its an auto. I no longer work on autos or balisongs or allow them mailed to me. When I buy one I try to get it local rather than cross that gray area into mailing. What I did on my own when I owned one was flip the clip by making a new one and drilling the scale. I threaded the scale but I also installed some thin cut off slices of a 1/8" pivot barrel like those sold by USA Knifemaker Supply. These barrels are already threaded for the clip size 2-56 screws and it was pretty simple to drill a couple of shallow recess holes using a two flute carbide drill bit in that size and just insert those cut off slices into that. Then the clip screwed down and caught good by those two hidden inserts on the underside of the scale. If you do something like that and use a regular twist drill be very careful because twist drills pull up the piece they go into unless you have it clamped down.

If its not an auto I could do it for you. If it is. I'm not going to take the commission to do the job. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hey STR,
It's a manual, not too much of a fan of autos, but anyhow should I send this one off to you to get fitted? It ... seems a bit complicated to do myself, hehe.

Yeah I can either install a clip tip up or see what I can do for you as it came. I have a work order form I'll need filled out and printed to mail with the knife. Find that at the top of the page here on my forum on page one somewhere all the time. Its one of several sticky threads there. The one you want is the one that starts, Low Rider clip and Mail instruction, or Read this if you need to mail me work. Since you are getting a clip I'd go with the first one.

Thanks. Price, address and all you need to know for my clips is in that thread.

Once printed mail at your convenience.

Hm, can I throw the order form in the box with the knife when I ship it out or did you want me to send an order form separately? :)

No no. Mail the form with the knife please. If there is one thing that really slows me down its getting a knife in the mail by itself with no paperwork. I get too many contacts to remember everything we discuss so its real important that the form be with the knife when it arrives. Thanks

Hey STR,
Thought I'd just throw this in the same thread, I'm probably going to keep the diablo the way it is, it's not one of my favorites after carrying it for a day, there are just some things I really don't like about the knife
Anyhow, I just got a microtech mini socom today, it's manual. I think it has aluminum handles? Would you be able to give that a new pocket clip? Not a fan of how low the pocket clip is mounted.

Thanks!

I don't see why not. I've tapped aluminum many times before so it is most likely a doable job. I'd just need a work order form and for you to mail the knife. Thanks for asking and sorry I missed the first attempt to bring this one up.

Alright, You have a package headed to you.

Just one more question, is it the normal 35 dollars or something extra?
I have my paypal open, just let me know. :)
Thanks

Yeah we'll square up after its done unless you just have to do it now. Shipping home is $4.85 using Priority mail and if you want signature confirmation its $6.30. For what its worth I'm thinking of going to the signature confirm way of shipping from now on. If insured its even more usually, but I can do that also. I just need to know by you notating it on the form how you want it shipped home.

I"ll try to get it out that way if possible. Many guys pick Fed X or UPS. Both are more expensive and when I say how I'm more thinking do you want it insured or not but folks want UPS even though it costs more I'll do it. Fed X is a bit of a pain for me though.

I think I'll stick with USPS, I might have to go with the non-signature confirmation though, I'm leaving for a trip on friday so I have a friend picking up mail for me. Hmm..

Should I be paypalling you about 40 dollars? :)
Thanks

I don't think it will be quite that much but $35 anyways after shipping home.

I received the SOCOM Microtech in the mail today. I hope to get to it later but I got hit with so much today that I may not get to it til tomorrow. Thanks

STR

Haha, don't worry about it,
Just let me know how much I should send you through paypal, I'll be leaving on a trip for 10 days tomorrow.. If I don't hear from you then I'll just send you the normal amount + some extra cash for the shipping. ;)

Thanks buddy!

Its all done. $35 to pay pal. The label is printed and you should be getting a tracking email shortly. Clip is blue, and tip up as requested. Thanks man. Enjoy. Pay pal is my email in the work order form.
