Here's the 2nd Mini Spear Vala up for auction.

This one is 9" on the button, I didn't bother to weigh it, don't weigh much, is that close enough???

Went a different route this time, instead of building up the handle with inlays, I recessed a large area of the handle and checkered it. I figured if it didn't feel right I could always come back with inlays and build it up at least flush like original.

I was pleasantly surprised that it feels quite good. Good grip, nice and slender, generally quite comfy in all respects. Enough so that I called it a complete mission success.

Enough gab, here's some pictures.




Tried to capture the detail of the recessed checkered area with limited success.




Pugs agreed to make a sheath for this one as well, so it's the knife plus a custom Pugs sheath package.

We'll run until high noon next Sunday, not tomorrow sunday but the one after that.

Im bumpin this up to $80.00. The sheath alone is worth way more than that! I just bought me one but two cant hurt:D Thats an excellent job Mr. B! You did that pig sticker the justice it deserves:thumbup:

I recently picked one up as well, and am currently working up a sheath for it, so whoever wins this killer Bawanna worked masterpiece, I will have a template already to go. Happy bidding.
 
Bawanna, that is one nice handle! Outstanding craftsmanship to say the least.
 
This Spear Vala is headed towards the land of Lack of Beavers, otherwise known and Pugs Land, along with the micro Bowie that BB won.
Both to be fitted with proper leather evening or daytime attire, I guess one leather does it all.

For some silly reason I had it in my head that I had to wait till the auction is over. WHY? Tell me Why?

So off they went. Anxious to see what Mr. Pugs does with these. I'm gonna do another similar micro bowie if the planets align and I find a decent donor animal and a bowie. I'm probably biased but it kind of spoke to me for some reason.
 
Just a kindly reminder, sorry Cul I gotta do it. High Noon Sunday is rapidly approaching. Standing or sitting depending on who you are at 130 bucks at the moment.
The knife is in Pugs hands and probably in the process of being fitted with his custom pants. Pictures he said were forthcoming when he's finished.
 
I'll have to make another one. Late again.

I couldn't resist a blade made by Kumar, with handle by Bawanna and sheath by Pugs.

I gotta get some more knives so we can do these auctions from time to time. I probably can't keep up with one a week but often as I can. Don't have the bank account to buy all the knives I want to support HI but if I can do a little whittling and fixing and make them a little, that makes me feel fine too.
 
I know I'm going to be extatic when mine arrives! It will undoubtedly be a companion on my trips to Saskatchewan.
