So I don't have my Badger yet. I'm sure it's only 2 weeks out :D Anyhow I ordered a green with snakeskin to match my SJTac. I just know that once I get it I will kick myself for not getting more....I guess that is what the company store is for.

As for the Sus Scrofa....Here is a quick true story. My brother was sitting accross the office from me and he was trying to open something that was in one of those plastic clam pack things. You know the kind...part plastic, part krytonite or something...

I see him stuggling to open the pack and I say, here try this. I throw him a multi tool that has a blade in it that is almost identical to the Sus Scrofa blade. Kind of that modified sheeps foot/warncliff with a slight curve in it.

I told him...I know it looks weird but just try it...most useful blade shape I've ever used....Sliced throught the plastic like butter.

And then Jerry shows the picture of the SS....INFI in that shape...I just can't wait!

I only wish Jerry makes a Micro SS  3" blade

Although knife laws in this state are muddy at best I know that a blade under 3" is not considered a "deadly weapon". I guess that is a subject for another thread.

You know... at first, I didn't like the SS.

But the more I think about the blade shape and design... the more I realize what a useful blade this will be.

So... I guess I'm starting to FEAR IT!!! :D :D

I should stop kidding myself because I'm sure that in the end, I will be getting a couple of these.

The SS is going to be the one that helps me convert a few people. It is an extremely utilitarian design and will be excellent for outdoor activities as well.

I'm still skeered.

Wharncliff blades ARE useful for clampack. If I don't have scissors handy, I'll use the sheepsfoot blade on a stockman (basically a small wharncliff).

I think I like it because of the way you use it. The point goes in and you draw back. Very controlled way to cut with the hand in a natural position....

Think about the way your hand would be if you tried to use a drop point that way. Not as natural and the tendency of the blade would be to slip out. With the SS the curve of the blade will draw itself into the material....Of couse I am talking about a hard to cut material like plastic.

I always took Wharncliff to mean a flat edge. The SS looks like a negative curve. Not as severe as what I'd usually call a Hawkbill but not a Wharnie either. I like Jerry's description of Boar's Tusk. I think this will be a great offering.

Well put... Exactly what I was thinking about it.

You guys... please stop with all this chatter. I was thinking my credit card was going to get a well deserved break and you are cracking my will  . All very good points... about the point

If the SS had a flat edge it would be phenomenal for food prep. I am sure it will be with the negative recurve as well but it just won't sit flat on the board.

I wonder if the large will be on the SF handle(?) Now that will be interesting

Come on now Dunner!...you know you can't resist. :D

I'm officially a SS pusher...:D

Cannot wait to get my order in, I like it and it will go well with my meaner street!

Did Jerry say we'd get many options on how it'll look?

Hawkbills rule. From the Sus Scrofa family to Spyderco's small and large hawkbill folders (including the upcoming Superhawk), it's my favorite office EDC blade type.

Knowbganzaaaaa really pull my money out.....

But still, i hv a question about SS! Is it "double edged"??
