I just picked up a Mini-Taclite with walnut handles at one of the Walmarts in town. Nice little piece and quite inexpensive, although I wish they carried plain edge versions. I do have a question. The label on the box reads: Tacklite (misspelled) Walmart B886-WD-WM. Am I correct in assuming these walnut handled Taclites are exclusive to Walmart?

Another odd thing is that Walmart has it labeled as a full size taclite and not the mini. I've also noticed a number of differences in the design. First off, the thumb stud is high on the walnut model, possibly due to the thickness of the handle slabs? Secondly, the blade grind doesn't come to an abrupt stop at the kick of the knife, rather it tapers off. Conversely, the swedge looks a bit different, perhaps more robust? Lastly, the liners look thinner than those of the G10 model but it may just be a trick of the eye.
Overall, I am really enjoying mine. Very light and easy to carry and the edge came shaving sharp. The lock up left alittle to be desired as on the first model I had the liner slipped over to the far right almost off of the tang. On the second model I had, the problem had been corrected but the liner still moves slightly. Fortunately the lockup hasn't been compromised at all and is still seeminly solid.

Sounds Interesting. How much is it? Is it still ATS-34? Can someone please post a picture?

Price at Wallyworld is $40 bucks. I think the steel is 420HC and has a satin finish instead of the bead blast finish of the G-10/ATS-34 version. The walnut scales are held in place by rivets as is the pocket clip. I would have liked the option of removing the pocket clip, but you can adjust the blade's tension via the pivot.
