My wife told me this one resembled a strawberry and I kind of have to agree.:o Even how the spots that are sanded lower than others are lighter in color like the unripened spots on a strawberry. I don't know if the name will stick.......

This one was ground from .176" D2 stock and has crimson red jigged bone handles with thick black G-10 liners. This is a nice little compact blade at 5.75" overall with a 2.5" cutting edge.

Thanks for looking.....

Well......not my style, but I like it.
With the color and texture of the scales strawberry is a fitting name.
I have been watching as you progress with your knives and am impressed.
You seem to have a good eye for the overall shape and look of your knives.
Keep up the good work. Thanks for posting the photos.

Here at my house, both me and the hummingbirds like red.... that's a nice little knife!

Now; how do you flare your pintubes and lanyard ring?? what are they made of?

Thanks Mitch! The tubes are all stainless and they are actually just chamfered, not flared. I was leery about flaring with the bone slabs.

Looks good. Bone is not really my thing but the color and pattern look good.

Where the heck do ya get tubing that size??? Seems all the knifemaker's shops only sell 1/4 inch id which to me (being the modern, high tec maker I am :) ) small... Love your little knife. Are you going to make a kydex neck sheath for it? or is it just a tad bid for a NK?

edit: oops.. now I see its 5 inches +.... not a necker.

Ya know, this is almost an American "reverse" kiridashi! Thats my assessment and I'm sticking by it. :)

Mitch, check out onlinemetals.com I get all my tube and pin stock from them they have stainless, copper, round tube, square tube, thin walled, thick walled, decent pricing:thumbup: Go give 'em a look see!

American reverse Kiridashi.......I like that! It's actually inspired by the Kershaw Random Task, designed by Ken Onion. It's not exactly like it, but the Random is one of my all time favorite blades and I like the look of it. I did make a sheath, but it's a belt sheath. There are pictures over in the sales forum. I just listed this one this afternoon.

Frickin' beeeutiful Jonny!

I don't know if I should want to take a bite out of it, or use it to cut something up for lunch.

VERY nice work pal,

Taylor

Not bad for a Northern California Boy;) Been watching you too. Already surpassed me and I've been making awhile.
When are you going to stop by and let me handle one of those?

Ken, you are too kind buddy! I think I still have a fair ways to go, but I appreciate the compliment anyway!:)

I know I still need to get up there to have a visit and see your shop, it's just been very hard to drag myself away from the grinder these days:D

Wow Jonny,

I am really impressed. Please remember me when you get famous!

Keep it up!

When you make it to the Pasadena show with your exhibits next year, I will come and see you. LOL.

You are doing great work, keep it coming.

OK, Just keep up the great work.

Don't go selling houses or anything, taking away from your real occupation knife making. That would be de-evolution.

Awesome knife!!!!

I like everything about it. The color of the scales, the jigging, the liners, and the blade shape. I am partial to warnies.
