Very elegant with a beautiful grind.... May I ask what steel you use and what would a similar piece from you sell for? (USD or CanD is fine)

Great looking knife.

The importing of narwhal ivory is banned by any country that is signed on to the CITES agreement.

Here is a photo of a narwhal.

Clean looking little Knife.
I would be careful of showing it here or anywhere on the net. Infact, I wouldn't use it at all. Just not the right thing to do. But that's just me. As Keith pointed out, it is VERY Illegal. Even more so than normal Whale Ivory. You don't want a knock on the door! The Gov. can and will confiscate it and fine the heck out of you! With Narwhale, it can be worse than that!

He's posting from Canada (where narwhal is legal if it was killed by a native in a limited annual hunt), so he's well within his rights to taunt us with a beautiful knife we can't have.

OK guys,
First I do not want to start a debate on the laws, I thought some of you would apreciate a custom knife.
I thought we are here for the knives.

That knife is in my collection in Canada, and will stay here.THe tusk come from Canada , and is legally bought from the iniut coop, with the government hunting tag. Closing the discussion.à

Probably I will present mor micarta handle in the futur.

My comment about the importing of narwhal ivory was made because Alfaholic seemed interested in getting a similar knife. There is nothing wrong with using legally purchased narwhal ivory as long as the knife is going to stay in Canada.

Alain, sorry to have taken this thread in negative direction.

Thank you Keith for your comment here.
I appreciated it.

Thank you also Artmichalek, to come at my rescue, here..

Again Alain, sorry to have taken your thread in this direction.

Says who? According to the C.I.T.E.S. website, http://www.cites.org/eng/app/appendices.shtml the Narwhal is not listed.

Importing of any animal or byproduct of any animal listed in appendix I of the C.I.T.E.S. agreement is forbidden (except under highly regulated circumstances). Narwhal are members of the order Cetacea. All members of the order Cetacea that are in the dolphin, porpoise and whale families are included in appendix 1. Narwhals are members of that group. They are not specifically listed, but neither are the other whales.

PM Sent (to stop this derail).

Alain,

That is a lovely looking knife. My personal preference for that pattern is micarta, so your comment above looks good to me. In fact, before I saw the larger version, I thought it had natural micarta handles.

I checked your website and couldn't find the answer. What steel are you using?

Outstanding knife. The grinds look perfect and the fit and finish are great. On the right side of the handle, lower pin...is that a flaw in the pin or something in the picture? I'm guessing it's a flaw in the picture because the rest of the knife is so nice. The handle certainly has a unique character to it. Nice all around.

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you everyone, for your support an d
coming back to the knife.

Yes, the pin have a reflection in it, so it is picture defect, I am trying hard
to come to better picture.

Steel: ATS-34

I am using mostly ATS-34 for finer knife, sometime CPM 154.
I will have a chute coming in CPM-154, he is goiing to heat treat very soon.
And for a user, S30V.

Thank you again,

Alain.
