Two things I was unable to determine from the SOG website regarding the Mini X-Ray Vision:

1) Does it have steel liners and Zytel scales, or it the frame Zytel?

2) Is it spring assisted as in the full size Vision and Flash series?

Thanks!

Hi Mksql,

1) All our Arc-Lock knives have dual stainless steel liners.

2) Our website description of the Arc-Lock was very poorly written and has yet to be appropriately corrected. The Arc-Lock is not assisted opening with a spring on any models. All Flash models are fully spring assisted.

Please let me know if anything remains unclear.

Thanks!

Therefore, do the Zytel Flash models have liners?

When will the other models be available (non-Zytel)?

Hi Mksql,

Yes, the Flash 1 & II models are now shipping (I'll update the website soon...maybe before any of you read this). The aluminum handled models will hopefully start shipping sometime next month.

Do the Zytel models have liners, or a Zytel only frame?

Any pictures of the forthcoming models with other handle materials?

I am trying to decide if I want to order now, or wait for the other models. Can't afford them all!

All Arc-Lock models (including Zytel handled models) have dual stainless steel liners (see my first response in this thread).

So, the Mini X-Ray Vision does have dual stainless steel liners under the Zytel handles.

Please afford as many of these knives (and other SOG lines) as possible! ;)

I hope this helps. :)

Sorry, switched topics mid-thread again! :footinmou

I wanted to know if the Zytel Flash models use liners in the frame, and to know if any pictures of the forthcoming alumnium handled models are available?

Hi Mksql,

Oh, you switched topics on me. Shame, shame. ;)

OK...Zytel models of the Flash do not have steel liners. This is because we found in the development stage that they were not needed for structual stability.

The aluminum models will already have a more rigid frame, making it unnecessary for steel liners to be added to that model.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks! All is now well...

...unless you have any pics of the alumnium models.

Pictures? You’re asking for pictures? I can help. :D Since we do not have any production models, I only have access to the prototypes; so those are what is pictured below.

The anodized aluminum will be “graphite gray” colored that will have just a hint (a very, very small hint) of dark green (unless something changes in the next two weeks). These pictures will not do the handle color true justice.
