It was asked befor ewith little success but I will try again now that the Forum has doubled its size: is anyone out there interested in miniature knives?

Mini's are great to collect.
But they are so darn hard to make. Some guys make it look so easy. The few I have done drove me crazy.

If a man can keep alert and imaginative, an error is a possibility, a chance at something new; to him, wandering and wondering are a part of the same process. He is most mistaken, most in error, whenever he quits exploring.

The short time I have been making mini's is not much to go on but it seems that it's a female thing mostly. I give one to the Blade school at old Washington each hammer in and it seems like the ladies are the ones that buy them. I have sold only two to men, all the others went to the ladies. Since I only make them out of Damascus with Ivory and Sterling I supose that would limit who buys them. Hard to make, yes, but fun also. Guess that makes me some sort of a kook. :>)

I can appreciate the work that goes into making them. I think they are interesting to look at. I can't see myself collecting them. If I gave one to my wife she would probably say, "That's cute, but why didn't you just get me a piece of jewelry?"
Now, if you scroll down a little on Johnny Stout's page, that stag piece is more like it for me.

There used to be a Miniature Knife Collectors Society.

I don't know if it still exists out there.

Paula Easler(Russ's wife) makes excellent miniatures and she also makes them as tie pins. I got a stag handled drop point hunter tie pin from her a few years ago for only $35.
