Buck 425 Minibuck

I've read conflicting stories about whether this little knife has been discontinued
by Buck, or "re-issued" or "while supplies last". One web post said it was
discontinued in 2006, but was popular enough that Buck 're-issued' it.
The knife doesn't show up on Buck's website, but I know they're still
available at local stores, Ebay, etc for <$10.

Anybody know for sure whether they're still in production?

There seems to have been a run at least as recently as 2008, as the tang stamp on mine indicates. These are in fact available quite inexpensively via several ebay and internet vendors.

I've emailed the Buck website...no answer yet.
All I can find on the web is stuff like:

http://www.shopwiki.com/detail/d=Buck_425_Mini_Buck_Lockback_Knife/
(2009)..."Buck discontinued production of the "Mini Buck but it continued to be a popular
knife that they have been reintroduced."...

http://toolmonger.com/2007/07/05/back-in-the-day-a-year-ago-this-week-on-toolmonger-2/
(2007)..."We wrote about our favorite — and sadly discontinued — everyday pocket knife,
the Mini-Buck. We continue to beg, and our please continue to fall on deaf ears.
When will Buck buck-up and resume production of these inexpensive masterpieces?"...

http://toolmonger.com/category/manufacturers/buck/
(2006)..."The MiniBuck isn’t a fancy knife, but then again Buck used to ask just $15 for it.
Sadly, they chose to discontinue it for unknown reasons."...
