Well I don't think I'll ever get one, just because I can't find one I trust to be a 100% bullet proof and as water tight as the stock end cap. I'll state again that I've found my mag lites to be 100% reliable and I realize some have not, but I have.

The only tailcap switches I've found are the Nite-Ize (which I do not trust to be water tight nor durable!) as well as the Kroll switch, which looks pretty water tight but I've heard issues about reliability, not to mention its made of plastic.

So has anybody seen aftermarket tail switches for mags which are tough as nails and water tight?

I bought a couple of Nite-Ize switches but don't use them because they seem flimsy as you wrote.

More recently, I bought a TerraLux TCS-1 tail switch for my old style Mini Maglites and it is much better than the Nite-Ize switch. The former has a soft rubbery covering instead of hard plastic.

I bought the TCS-1 from led-replacement.com :

Very interesting, I'll have to see if I can find some more reviews and details about it. Have you had the "chance" to rate its water resistance? How about impact resistance?
