guys,

i guess that for a long time now my purchase have been geared towards small, collapsible multi used gears ... especially fishing rods, fishing accessories, multi tool, jackets/windbreaker, packs/bags, knives, water containers, torchlights, binosculars, food etc....

i guess i've always the notion to pack as small as possible for a hiking/trekking fishing trip to the hidden fishing hole somewhere but still have the right equipment and gears to to the job right!!!.

i've currently reduced my minimalist fishing gear to a fannypack/buttpack about 8 liter capacity with,

4. 3 Uncle-Toby Muesli Bars
5. Berkerly Pocket 6" Lip Grip and Duckbilled Pliers
6. Rapala Fillet Knife
7. Gerber Auto-Recoil Plier
8. 125 lumen Surefire G2 Torch
9. 2 LED Princetontec Headlamp
10. Waterproof Stowaway Rain-jacket/Windbreaker
11. Emergency Space Blanket
12. Overland pack (S) First Aid Kit with PANADOLS, Anti-Histamine, Methol Crystals, Potassium Permanganate Crystal, Benzanine/Iodine Solution, Cotton Buds, Small Maglite & Swiss Army Knife with scissors, small mirror, Carbon Tablets, Anti-Insect Stingrose Cream, OpSite Liquid Field Dressing Spray, Anti-Septict SAVLON Cream, Mopiko Muscular Cream, Oral Hidration Salt, ENOS, Leukoplast & HandiPlast Dressings, ACTAL Tablets, Nomal Saline Eye Drops (S) Bottle 5ml .....

what kind of footwear would you use

I was thinking keen sandals

i have mine but haven't had a chance to try them out yet due to a foot injury,

I've heard somewhere of people hiking the AT with these, does anyone know where I might have heard it from?

I'm just thinking from a water standpoint, being in the water all the time etc.

Well the best footwear for waterlogged area are the Watersocks, i think they're from ADIDAS ..... i usually just wear my TEVA sandals, they're light, easy to pack, tight (with straps), protects my toes (up to a certain extend) and easy drying (except for the straps) .....

Do you not have parasites in the water in that part of the world?
