Two part question. What's the minimum amount of gear you carry for a day in the woods? Also, what's the minimum gear you carry on a daily basis? Explain why you carry what you carry, and as always, pictures are always appreciated.

Im interested in the responses to this one ... I will try to post with a reply a bit later when I get home and can get some pictures to share.

JK Bluegill and Fenix LD02 or Streamlight micro stream flashlight in a KSF Pocono pocket sheath and a water bottle. Same on a daily basis. Might add something to make a fire, but don't really need it. Doesn't get all that cold in Mississippi. Sometimes I'll swap out the Bluegill for a SAK Pioneer or maybe some other similarly sized slip joint. The size of the water bottle depends on how long I'll be out. Whatever the combination, I guess my minimum is a knife, flashlight, and a water bottle. Any more than that would require a pack or bag of some sort, then all sorts of other junk ends up coming along.

Since I don't leave my property very often, my pockets are usually empty. When I do leave I have my wallet with a couple of band aids, and my key ring which has a small Spyderco, and a couple of small capsules on it, one which has an eyeglass repair kit and SAK tweezers in it, and one with aspirin in it, and my lighter in my pocket.
On short hikes I add a SAK, pocket first aid kit with moleskin patch, butterfly band aids, and Neosporin packs, plus a bottle of water. For longer hikes I use a small Maxpedition shoulder bag with more water and larger first aid kit, and extra lighter.

My minimalist combo is my SAK Tinker and a mini Bic lighter wrapped with duct tape.

These two are ALWAYS on me at work. I really love this sheath darkmatter made for me!
I would carry my Beretta 92, but the customers might give me the 'stink eye'

knife, fire source, watch, flashlight (because I always have my mini one with me)

pair of pants is always nice as well, shirt and boots most times work out well also :p

I always EDC in the streets so to speak a flashlight, multi-tool, and my phone, wallet and keys. Extras like a Fixed blade of 2~3in length vary if I have a coat or not.

My SAK Alox and Surefire Titan Plus....Crazy bright with L91 AAA battery or NiMH AAA or Alkaline AAA if need be.

I am a minimalist and only carry one tool of each at a time. 1 flashlight and 1 cutting tool.

Just got mine today. Do you think max output is close to 300 lumens with the L91 or only with the Eneloop Pro?

The L91 with multimeter I get 2.2A at tailcap readings which means you are getting around 4 Watts of power which means 300 Lumens should and is very likely and a piece of cake for that light at such current. Surefire lumen ratings are typically the same if not more than what people will test in out the front lumens tests.

My other favorate EDC light is this 5inch MiniMag which has a XHP70 and does 3200 real out the front lumens, but typically use the lowest 2 modes (5 modes total). It was custom made and took a lot of effort to make such a small tiny powerhouse.

Thank you sir, I knew you would have the answer.

Your modded MiniMag is off the charts cool!!!
