Maybe some of you folks can help. I have the 913 straight edge non coated stryker. The problem is up and down blade play(not sure what the technical name for that is, but not the side to side play). The knife has the adjustable stop pin so I've tried to adjust it several times, but after its tight again I'll open it a couple of times and it'll get blade play again. It keeps doing this and its kinda annoying. I've tried making sure the screw is tight after I adjusted it and it always goes back loose again. Any suggestions? Its a great knife. I wish they would make one with the axis lock though. Thanks for your help and input.

It's called 'Radial blade play' and usually requires sending the 913 to Benchmade for repair/adjusting. The hex stop pin works wonders for side to side but not for that type of movement.

Thanks I'll probably send it in today. And now I know its called radial blade play!

Just to be sure here- you have rotated the hex-shaped stop pin? When you say that it gets play after you open it a couple of times, that raises some doubt.

This exact same thing happened with my 913.

Place your finger on the stop pin on the back of the knife to stop it from rotating when you adjust the screw. Adjust the screw and make it to where the hex-shaped stop pin has a "flat" spot on top, not an angled spot. Placing your finger on the stop pin also allows the screw to actually be tightened, and not just rotate it. This helped me.
