This a piece David made for me when he was working on Joe's awesome 'Ball Fighter'... :)

David's stainless SanMai (I think it's a 4 Series stainless cladding with a W2 core) blade, and his signature carbon-fiber haft...Lightning Strike Carbon-fiber Guard with a sculpted carbon-fiber handle relieved for an epoxy-soaked carbon-fiber wrap...light and indestructible.

The Cape Buffalo pouch-style sheath by the inimitable Paul Long... ;)

What better firearm to go with the incredible Alaskan Bladesmithing of Mr. Mirabile than an apt named derringer, 'Alaskan Survival Model' M4 from American Derringer.... .45-70 Government on top and 3" .410/.45 Colt on the bottom.....the absolute most brutal handgun I ever fired. :(

All it took was ONE 300gr Winchester Silver Tip, like the one pictured, and I was forever done...cannon-like concussion, bushel-basket sized muzzle-flash, brutal recoil and it broke the 2nd knuckle in my middle finger...the 3" .410 is like a pop gun compared. :D

Wow to all three, the knife, sheath and pocket cannon. May I inquire into how inebriated one would have to be to shoot the .45-70? That's something I would do.

Ha! Thanks and not at all....wish I would have been after pulling trigger, would have numbed the pain a bit maybe. They made one .45-70 top and bottom for the real Masochistic's. ;)

Great knife

The Derringer is scary

I have one that shoots 45 long colt and 410 and I thought that was bad :)

Fantastic knife. He's in my top 5 for sure and I'm very happy to own a blade by him. Not sure about that gun though...broke your knuckle? Damn. :-)

Yeah, by the time the hammer's cocked it's like holding onto a golf ball with two fingers....that trigger guard sits right on the ol' knuckle....turned dark purple and swelled up like a grape instantly. I've got a few others, one in .357, one in .45 Colt/.410, and a 9mm. ;)

Yeah, no.

What Matt said! My 8 pound, single shot, 45-70 rifle can cause enough recoil to satisfy my need for discomfort. I wouldn't shoot that Derringer unless it was life or death situation:eek:

I like the Mirabile:thumbsup:

Very neat knife Dudley - I like the blade profile and the handle treatment is specially cool.

A 45-70 out of a derringer? Why not just take a sledge hammer to your hand rather than spend money on the ammo? Cool gun though:thumbsup:

Great looking knife and sheath. I wouldn't shoot the derringer either, I need my hands in good shape to work.lol
