Most know I have a pension for large knives
But alas I've been relegated to a much more public lifestyle with work etc and my EDC's have grown progressively smaller
In a small utility/defense type blade I have always been a fan of the Japanese styled Kwaikens. Modern and classical.
I have been carrying these style knives for almost 30 years
When David sent me pics of the Harpoon Fighting Bowie that I posted here earlier in the month I noticed a lovely little Kwaiken that embodied David's wonderful style
A timeless wicked look that David captures through his meddling of ancient and modern materials with a strong reliance on performance enhancing characteristics that sets his work apart from the pack
This little gem incorporates some of the last of his supply of Lightening Strike Carbon Fiber and Walrus Ivory with a traditional over wrap of carbon fiber Ito
The blade is comprised of a 2 bar high layer explosion pattern Damascus that has a toothy wicked edge
A real scalpel
Since a blade is only as good as its carry method he finished it up with a well made double stitch heavy welt horizontal cross draw carry sheath
A wonderful classy addition to my Kwaiken Collection
