Miracle Blade

I've never handled them, but I believe one of my friends bought a set, said the blades flexed very easily, kinda hard to conrol.

my girlfriend's mom has a set and they work well even the ones that have been cutting steak on a ceramic plate I think is has something to do with the edge design

You're better off buying a cheap set of Henkels from Target on sale. I 'bought' mine for $45.00, and had it 're-gifted' by my family last Christmas.

A full block set of plain-edge knives that you can sharpen, steel, and keep up. They may not be anything high end, but you could do much worse.

At the very least, get something endorsed by a chef who uses his last name, or both names.

Alton Brown's Kershaw/Shun line, for example...

I have used some of the knives from the set. The edges are badly ground, like it was just rushed through. The ahndles and steel both felt cheap.

The miracle blades have tiny little serrations. These basically serve to prolong blade life because it means a longer blade length. Impossible to sharpen tough. The thing that these serrations do is trick people into thinking the knife is sharp. These tiny little teeth catch onto the fibers of whatever and rip them rather than cutting them. But to the unknowing knife user it still "cuts" so they think its still sharp.
My girlfriends mom has them and i hate them. They are crap.
