My brother died last year. He had gotten into as much trouble as he could in his life, when he was in VN he found the lowest life turds and hooked up with them. I went several times, stayed in and later deployed to Honduras. My Gerber Mk 2 and my Randall #1 disappeared from my Mom's house. Last week my sister in law called and asked me if I wanted my knives back. They were in the posession of a scumbag buddy of my brothers, this guy was killed in a motercycle accident and his wife is cleaning up his stuff. My knives were among the stuff and she wants 400 bucks for them. I know my brother was trying to make amends for something in the months before he died because he gave me a Cold Steel double tang fighter that he claimed was the prototype. I have mixed feelings, I want my knives but I am damn angry that the scumbags knew where they were all the time.

Man that really sucks , I have a brother like that and cant belive he is still around , Good luck and hang tuff. :grumpy:

Sounds like this woman is trying to sell back to you your stolen property. Any chance her husband not your brother stole it? Either way, if you have connections in your community, you may want to talk to the cops, friendly sherrif, etc. and see they can be retrieved for nothing. If that doesn't work, today's value of the blades may take their attempted return as stolen property into the felony range. If you have any proof the blades are yours, it may be possible to have them confiscated and then returned through the courts.

sounds like she is as much a scumbag as her husband was. Sorry for your loss, even if you guys werent that close. Definitely seek legal means to recover your knives. I would buy a tape recorder and call the woman, and say: "those knives were stolen from me- why do I need to pay for them?" She might well incriminate herself on the tape. Good luck. :(

Thanks guys. It was actually nice of my sister in law to tell me because the slut could have tken them to a pawn shop or yard sale and let them go. Yes, I have proof, the sn's of both in one of my old Scout Books that were also in my Mom's attic. I called a police buddy I know and they will confiscate them but he advised me that the cost of actually taking the woman to court will be more than the knives because it will be the word of a widow who will swear that her husband paid me for them. So I'm probably going to just pay for them as I gather the bucks.
