Hey fellas , I have a few blades that I would like to polish to mirror finish. I was looking through this site to find those of you who are the water stone sharpening zen masters. Am I looking in the right place?

Thanks!

If I understand your question correctly, you just want the edge mirror finished Not the whole blade right?

I do my final sharpening using a flex cut strop with compound. It would not be the same as a water stone mirror finish in the process, but it’s pretty fast and somewhat similar. You can definitely get the edge sharp in a hurry. It will usually be mirror finished just from that in my experience.

If you are just starting out, rather than investing on multiple waterstones and nagura stones, you should first try using high grit emory papers in the 800, 1200, 2000+ grits to put a mirror polish on your edges. The difference is less than $20 vs several hundred $$
Place paper on glass sheet or similar flat surface.
