So i have been collecting knives for a little over 2 years now. but recently i am really into sharpening. what do you guys use to put a mirror polish on ur knife edges? consider me as a beginner and i have only use the sharpmaker to sharpen my knives. i have heard people using very fine water stones and leather strop. but are there any other ways out there?

thanks!

I typically convex my mirror edges, makes it about the easiest. I sharpen like I typically sharpen, on a diamond stone, and then go to a fine water stone. I then use 1000 grit sandpaper, and wrap it around a piece of an old belt, and strop it with water until most of the micro scratches disappear. Then I strop it on leather with stropping compounds. To get the burr off after I get the finish I want, it hit it lightly on the waterstone, and strop 1 more time, and hairs pop off...

The ultra fine ceramic stones from Spyderco are very good to polish an edge...
