Hey all! Which would resist corrosion better, Mirror polish or stone wash? Ive got a stonewashed blade that im handling and i was thinking about polishing the spine while im at it, would it rust faster without the stonewash treatment on it?

All other things being equal, mirror polish will be more corrosion resistant than stonewash, and stonewash will be more resistant than bead blast. Microscopic ridges and valleys tend to hold onto contaminants which promote rust. But if you clean thoroughly, oil regularly, and store properly you'll never see rust anyway.

Thank you. I figured stone washed would share the nook and cranny thing with bead blast, but this is the first stone washed blade ive gotten so I had no first hand experience. Im going for polished spine!
