G'day all, have not posted anything for a while, but I have been busy, really.
Showed this one at the Australian Knifemakers Guild Show last weekend and got asked what I had called it. I had'nt come up with a name and the fella that asked said I should call it " MISCHIEF " and there you go.
Specs:
Laddered W's
BL 14", 350mm,
OAL 20 1/4", 510mm
W pattern guard with copper and stainless spacers
Ringed Gidgee handle, domed pin.
Comments welcome and thanks for looking.
Cheers Keith

Wow! Keith, is that steel press laddered or cut/accordioned and then opened up?

What a beast. Really like the pattern. Great materials and work on the big stabby beast. Thanks for sharing.

So many cool elements in this piece!

But wait---- "Ws+Gidgee+ss+copper"??? Great minds must think alike! ;) LOL :D

I'd love to hear your finishing process for the Gidgee if you'd be up for sharing Keith. You really brought that piece to life! :)

Hi Nick, Thanks for the comments mate, I'm sure you must have a spy in my shop somewhere :eek:LOL
Ringed Gidgee would have to be my all time favourite timber handle material. I don't do anything special, hand rub to 1000, a liberal coat of ( Organoil ) Scandinavin oil and rub it in with some 1200 grit. Wipe of the excess oil and leave it for a while. Give it a polish on the swansdown mop ( loose flannelete ) and give it a coat of Renaicance wax. That piece I used was the one of the best I've seen for a while, take it out into the sunlight and wow those golden bands just pop.
Cheers Keith

"Organoil and swansdown"?!? Is that some kind of witches brew??? ;) :D
