Mismatched scales on purpose?

I was just thinking. Has anyone else thought of haveing a knife with two different scales? For example buffalo horn on one side and ram horn on the other. I know some may say that wouldn't look good. But mismatched scales would be a unique knife. What do you guys think? And if you could pick two different scales what would they be? I know its a random thought . But I thought it was an interesting idea.

I don't know about now, but in earlier days, some 300 series knives were made for salesman samples with two different or two color scales on each side. These currently are very uncommon and are highly sought after. I don't think they do that now so no overseas fakes please....I have one but how do you take a picture of it, with a mirror I guess...300

In the past the 110's and 112's sometimes had different color scales. One side would be light and the other side would be dark. I like them because of the one of a kind aspect.

Could do an interesting red, white and blue theme with them. Each side different with the 3rd color used for the liner, could look neat. Don't think I have ever seen one done on purpose though.

Or, favorite team colors on each side if you're a sports fan. One side for one season and the other for the 2nd season.

I do believe that ITE has a salesman's sample with wood on one side and clear acrylic on the other side of the 110. Now... finding it is another thing. Armand, please don't make a fibber out of me. :)

I like your idea Red. I really do. With different scales it would be like having two knives for the price of one. Unique, of course.

Many framelocks today have titanium on one side and G10 on the other side. Nobody complains that I've heard of.

Notice the different types of antler on the Damascus bladed 110? HL

I love the pictures. Those are nice knives. The ideas mentioned would be cool. I wonder if buck would offer mismatched scales again. Or if that would be the owner of knife.
