miss on the heat treat

this is the first time i have seen this on a blade i had buffed
1500grit hand sand then buffed. it is a tester but before i do any more 440c i wanted to see if this was ok or if i over heated ,under heated, not fast quench ,or if maybe i got some bum steel
my bet is i miss heated

I had Paul Bos HT my last batch and it looks just like yours. The rockwell test should give you the answer. It should be at 58-59 for 440c. Mine is.

i did it myself the heat treat that is
it was from a different bar of 440c so now im not worried thanks
