Man, I really miss the Kershaw Forum around here! I am a read-up-on-it kinda guy, and I find myself really missing out on the new runs of Kershaw. I know they have a few on the horizon that will fit my budget nicely, but find myself buying more spyderco these days, due to the wonderful interaction between collectors and producers of their knives. When Kershaw was around, they were always in the running with the spyderco forum, and found themselves at the top of my want to have list. Money is very tight these days, and Spyderco Persistence is winning the war of the wallet. I would really like to see more on the new run from Kershaw with RJ Martin, but miss the interaction. Benchmade sunk their own ship with me, and it seems that Kershaw is floating in the same waters. Just my two cents.

I didn't join this forum early enough to participate in the Kershaw forum, but imagine I would have spent most of my time there. Of my meager knife collection over half are Kershaws, and its the only brand I have more than one of. I'm definitely a budding Kershaw junky and a dedicated forum that was as good as some of the sub-forums here would probably push me over the top.

It would probably be similar to what the Rat sub-forum has done for me. My list of wants grows everytime I check it out.

Maybe I'm better off without it.

You took the words right out of my mouth, brother!

I've been on other forums for at least a year... where DID the Kershaw forum go? Did Thomas have too much on his hands or something?

I'd love to find a Kershaw forum as well. Just ordered my first, and would really love to find a source for good information.

Almost every knife I own is either a Kershaw or a Spyderco, with a few Bucks, Cold Steels, and "others" thrown in there.

I just received my Kershaw/Onion Shallot with CPM-110V steel today in perfect condition.
The blade is perfectly centered. The frame lock is rock-solid and only moves 1/3 across the blade section right now.

This is just an awesome knife with quality control that rivals anything else out there. The value of most Kershaw knives is by far the best in the industry, imo. I also love most of the Ken Onion designs.

I bought the Shallot LNIB for $60.00 shipped, and really feel like I got a good deal. I like this Shallot better than some knives that have cost me twice as much money.

This Shallot will be seeing some EDC use. It is not super-lightweight, but not too heavy either at about 5 ounces.

I have not had a chance to test the CMP-110V steel on this Shallot, which is supposed to be fantastic at edge retention, and of course, not so easy to sharpen.

I love the size and shape of the Shallot, it is a perfect balance for me of being thin enough to be comfortable to carry in a pocket but thick enough for a good grip, and it is not that scary-looking for the sheeple when I pull it out, at least less scary than my G10 Tyrade or even my Spyderco P'Kal.

I may sell my Kershaw Storm II just because I can not ever see carrying it instead of the Shallot.
The problem is that the Storm II is also a great frame lock knife, and it will only get $25.00, so it is tempting to keep it as a safe queen and maybe a gift one day.

If Kershaw doesn't want an official forum here, then so be it. But why can't the users have an unofficial forum here?

I was looking for one too. Kershaw's have continued to grow on me. Latest pick up was the OD-1. Hadn't expected much - but was at Walmart - what are you gonna do. Pleasantly surprised.

They are growing on me too. I started the year out with no Kershaws. Now I am up to:

Kershaw Tyrade G10 PE
Kershaw Storm II PE
Kershaw Storm II PSE
Kershaw Chive PE rainbow
Kershaw Shallot PE
Kershaw 1600 PE
Kershaw Outcast (X3) - What can I say, I love this bush knife, $58.00 each to the door.

I plan on getting a ZT, a titanium frame-lock Tyrade, and a Leek before too long. Not sure what after that, maybe a Boa.

My blue titanium bump and my titanium/zdp leek are everything I want in a knife. Functional beauty and kick ass performace. My rainbow leek is the best modest price knife I own. The coating seems to help keep it sharp and makes it slide out of my pocket like no other knife I own. Works great in money clip mode too. Oh ya, leeks are great money clips. I have two shallots, damascus and 110. I love the ergonomics, but I can't get them as sharp as I'd like. My knife store guy talked me in to a spyderco sharpener to keep them sharp but I haven't started that yet.
