First piece he's offered to his mailing list in a long while. With Don being back East, the mail hit my inbox at 6am... :grumpy:

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I responded within a couple minutes and it was already gone. Beautiful piece and very fairly priced.

It doesn't Roger - given that I missed it, I would have been happier knowing you got it rather than some unknown person. :)

This is where Jerry's lottery system really works much better than Don's first respondent. With the mailing list he has, there's probably an interval of many, many minutes between the time the first name gets the email, and the time the last email is sent.

Same here - responded a couple minutes of receiving email.
It was already GONE!

I saw this piece in NY @ Ashokan.
It was very nice

Joss - didn't mean to suggest you would be happy that I missed it - you are no small-minded person - just that you might take comfort that had you even seen it 3-4 minutes after it was posted, it might not have mattered. I only ever snagged one of these - saw the e-mail come through and replied with an "I'll take it" before even checking the link for the details. And the guy in second place wasn't very much slower.

Hopefully with Don settling in to the new shop we'll see more of these.

Good point.

I thought Don's logo on the pin was a nice touch.
Like Roger said, with Don in the new shop maybe we will see more of these offerings.

I didn't get it either.

Hey, I know that knife. Don handed it around during his sharpening lecture at Ashokan last weekend, when it was still a work in progress.

hell, if you missed it, the rest of us shouldn't feel bad......

LOL, Shaldag!

If only I hadn't been transferred at work back to the 9-5 tour I might have had a chance on this one! I liked Peter's knife better at the Ashokan but beggars can't be choosers...

I saw it at 6pm Eastern. It would have been purchased 500 times before I got a chance!
