Missed out on an AH-1

So it appears that I missed out on getting an AH-1.
I recently (finally) upgraded to a gold membership; I figured after all these years it was about time. But i just saw this link http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/announcement.php?f=816&a=164 and here it turns out if I did my upgrade through this link I could have gotten an AH-1 for doing the upgrade and then paying the shipping for the AH-1.
That is just disappointing.

I myself, a few weeks ago, upgraded to gold membership. I used the link you mention and I paid the extra postage.
I still have not received anything to date. I think he should no longer be AH-1 stock.

It does not matter, I bought AH-1 myself.
 
no big loss. they want $5 extra for paying via paypal (last time i checked)... something about entering the info into the system. i guess if you mail it in the magic gnomes enter the data. :rolleyes:

and then the cost of priority shipping with confirmation instead of taping it to a piece of cardboard and sending it in a regular envelope. last time someone said "it's heavy" ok, so charge $1.00 for postage and put two stamps on the envelope. it ain't THAT heavy! :rolleyes:

so the cost of the "free" AH1 is almost the same is buying it from a vendor like KSF. i'll spend my money with someone who seems to have a better understanding of how to manage resources.
 
A few days ago I decided to go for a gold account as well and since we all love ESEE I simply had to take that offer ;)
Lets hope they are not out of AH1s... Ohterwise I paid 8 bucks for shipping what? Air? :confused::grumpy: Thought it might take some time because I live in Germany and will be charged additional shipping costs so I wouldnt have asked within a week from order...

Hopefully one of the mods or Jeff can check the background on that do we get at least the shipping costs back :( But honestly I would prefer the AH 1

shipping cost to Germany is somewhat crazy (I did get my AH1 through my gold membership, too, so I know), so you will get some info on additional shipping cost, just let Spark collect some foreign orders, so he can do them all in one ...
 
I did the AH1 link the first day it was up and just got a notice it was shipping on 2/1. :)

You could have gotten it from Nico's shop in the UK http://survival-knives.co.uk/ where it costs 11.25 GBP

Hes a member here on BF too and gives a discount to those with a Rat PAck number.

I also bought mine like a month ago, and I just got a email yesterday that it shipped. So, I think you'll get yours.
 
That's the reaosn it's the very first announcement post that's a sticky...but no one reads stickies. Not sure how else to make it plainer :D

For those of you who purchased memberships through the promotion, you will get your arrowhead. We aren't "overselling". Everyone who's had their's shipped should have gotten an email already; if you haven't gotten an email, it hasn't shipped. Non-US members require customs forms and such, so it's a bit more work, which is why they take longer. They are going out in the next batch.

We ship in cardboard boxes, with padding, not taped to envelopes or attached to passenger pigeons or tied to rocks and thrown in the general direction of the member. If this isn't acceptable, don't buy it. If you don't like paying the extra for shipping, don't buy it. If you don't like that memberships done through paypal / money order / whatever don't get the $5 discount that the automated system offers, don't buy it. If you aren't happy, by all means, nobody is twisting your arm to be here or to support the site.

Good chuckle out of that one. Are there still more to go around, Spark? I'd love to go gold, and an AH-1 would be some sweet icing on that cake.
 
Yes, there are. The "go platinum, get a chance to win a BFC Orange Handle Junglas" is still in effect as well. Who is BFC? Is Fixer a tool? And what would be my changes for the Junglas if I asked you to take my two years of Gold and alter it to one year of Platinum?
 
I don't want anything but I'm here to say I love BFC and fixer is a tool.
